Career Guidance

All students engage in a wide range of work related activities including work experience, industry days and mock interviews. Students follow a structured programme starting at Year 9 which supports the options process in Year 9, work experience in Year 10 and transition to Further Education or employment in Year 11. The school has strong links with business which supports the programme.

As part of this each student receives a one to one consultation with an experienced professional from the business world who can give expert advice on the scholars CV and personal statement and personal presentation skills.

Here at EBN Academy careers education is delivered discreetly through the Character Education program as well as through the curriculum.  Students have one to one meetings where they work though careers plans which gives them the opportunity to consider and research their future plans as well as gain some guidance from a member of staff.  Along side this students are given the opportunity to complete a weeks work experience, visit the National Skills show and in addition to this we also  host a careers fair.  Students in year 9 are also guided through their option choices via assemblies and a parental information evening to ensure they are selecting courses that suit their future plans.
